What I Wish I Knew at 18

What I Wish I Knew at 18, by Denis Trittin, is one of the coolest books I have ever read on life lessons, relationship advice, college and marriage advice. Most of what he writes may not be "new" information but the way he writes and the layout of his book is awesome!! He does not bore you or make you  feel like someone is trying to cram their advice down your throat as so many times, especially teenagers, feel when reading or listening to someone talk on these subjects.
His book is sort of broken into two categories, the first half, about personal issues such as: Character, Spiritual Life, Handling Adversity, and the second half, the practical "hands on stuff" such as: college, career selection, marriage, and finances. It is set up in a way that you can read whole chapters at a time, or he has "mini chapters" within the main ones, then has these "Take Five" after each one with questions to think about regarding the topic you just read about.
I would say everybody should read this book whether 18 or 45, I promise you will get something good out of it.:) The best part is you can enter to win a copy of your own right there. Just comment under this post and make sure I have some way of contacting you. You may want a copy for yourself, have a teenager in your home, or graduations are coming up and it would make a great gift!! The giveaway ends next Friday, April 5, 2013 @ 5:00pm.

Review and Giveaway ~ The Little House That Stood

Check out the trailer for the new Veggie Tales DVD, The House That Stood.
I really enjoyed watching this DVD with my niece and nephew. Even my husband was laughing at times.:) It is packed with many good lessons and a very unique twist of the parable of the wise and foolishman building their houses on the rock and sand and the three little pigs. That is followed by a very interesting version of Humpty Dumpty.  One of my favorite parts is at the end during Silly Songs with Larry, but I just love Larry's Silly Songs.:) I am so glad I have this DVD in my collection and I know I will get lots of good use out of it. Comment under this post to enter the giveaway.:) It will end Wednesday, March 13, 2013 @ 9:00pm.

I think it is a book that you would be happy to have in your library.:)
